History & Distributors

Drislide lubricants and greases have been in use for more than sixty years in a wide variety of applications and at businesses and companies all around the globe. On airplanes and freight trucks, manufacturing lines with Ford & Chrysler, Harley Davidson bikes across the country, weapons for the military since Desert Storm, and so many more. If it's made of metal, there is a good chance someone has used Drislide on it at some point over the years!

What makes Drislide the stand out choice over every other lubricant? Quality above all else. We are proud to say that while some things change, Drislide's patented formula has remained the same for years and years. No replacing components with something less effective to cut costs. No shrinking the sizes of the containers while keeping prices high. No outsourcing somewhere else to try and save a buck. Drislide has made the same phenomenal product for decades. We have always been a small family owned company, placing quality and care above making a quick buck.

If you are a distributor or storefront and would like to carry our products, please reach out via email to orders@drislide.com or give us a call at (614) 291-6900.

Saving time & money with Drislide

Posted by Norm Musgrove on February 08, 2013 (0 Comments)

"No amount of money ever bought a second of time."

It's a simple and brilliant quote, and Drislide is here to help you save both time and money! Our Multi-Purpose lubricants last longer than competing brands and will keep things running smoothly well after other lubricants would have faded away, saving you time on having to re-apply lubricant.

On top of lasting longer, Drislide lubricants save you money as well, requiring significantly less lubricant to be applied compared to competing brands for an even more efficient lubrication. Just a little Drislide goes a long way, whether it is a few small drips in a tough door lock or a quick spray on your bike chain, you only need a bit of Drislide to keep any metal moving.

Use less lubricant. Spend less time. Save more money.

How Drislide Works

Posted by Norm Musgrove on February 08, 2013 (0 Comments)

Drislide Multi-Purpose Lubricants are a thin dark grey/black liquid, made up of mineral spirits as the primary carrier for Molybdenum Disulfide (Moly).

The Moly settles at the bottom of the container and needs agitated or shaken up before you apply the Drislide. Once the moly is agitated and suspended in the mineral spirits, the mineral spirits carry the moly across the application (metal surface). The mineral spirits will completely evaporate in just a few minutes or less depending on how much is used, leaving behind a thin layer of dry moly film that has bonded to the metal surface and will stay there to lubricate longer then other lubricants. And the best part about the Drislide is that it will not collect dust, dirt or other airborne particles, and it repels moisture.

Once applied and the mineral spirits evaporate, the moly film withstands 100,000 psi and has a temperature range of -20°F up to 1000°F.

Needle Value

Posted by Norm Musgrove on February 08, 2013 (0 Comments)

Drislide is amazing as is, but for those small crevices and impossible to reach areas, our needles are second to none! Each needle is hand made in the US and is a metal applicator that twists easily onto the top of any of our four ounce bottles.

Once the needle applicator has been attached to the 4oz spout-top bottle, you will be able to apply just a drip of Drislide to the smallest of applications. The needle applicator comes in particularly handy for lubricant cables on motorcycles, bicycles, ATV's, and any other equipment that has cables, whether in a cable sleeve or exposed.

With the way the needle is designed, you are able to place the tip of the needle in the opening of the cable sleeve. Then you squeeze the bottle just enough to allow the Drislide to work its way down the interior of the cable sleeve, letting gravity do the work. Lubricating the cable to the point of preventing freeze-up, snapping, rust, and corrosion, massively extending the life of the cable.

Our four ounce bottles and needles have been used for decades by motorcycle and bicycle shops across the nation. Any that use it, from Harley to Janus to countless others, have all raved about both the quality of the Drislide and the time saved with how easy it is to use. While the needle is entirely optional and the spout tops allow Drislide to work great right out of the bottle, the needle makes getting into the smallest areas a breeze.

Each needle comes with a small black rubber tip on the end as well, to keep the end of the needle safe and sound between applications. The black rubber tip should be placed back on the tip of the needle when not in use and prior to shaking the bottle, as leaving the needle open and exposed for too long will allow air to get down in the needle and can dry up any moly and lubricant inside the needle, causing a small clog.

Suggestions on unclogging the needle: Run warm water through the needle to loosen or free up any small or fresh clogs. For more stubborn clogs, allow to soak overnight in mineral spirits, rubbing alcohol, or a degreaser parts cleaner. After an overnight soaking, if available, blow air through the needle to clear it out. The use of a can of compressed air may help. We've been told that some have had success threading a thin string through the needle like a guitar string to push through and break up the clog, and have even had one customer use a piece of uncooked thin pasta to break up a clog!
